It is an important basis of the diet of pet rabbits. The fiber contained in hay supports intestinal peristalsis and maintains a microbacteriological balance in the intestines. This fiber is vital for rabbits (among other things, it helps to eliminate hair that the rabbit gets into during daily hygiene).

The rabbit has to chew hay for a longer time, which wears down its molars. It contains vitamin D (due to UV radiation) and beta-carotene.
